One row per 2026 Tundra configuration listed on toyota.com, read October 27, 2026. 4x4 configurations have 4WDemand part-time four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case; 4x2 configurations do not have 4WDemand. Two SR5 configurations share a drive and bed but carry different ratings, so their toyota.com trim codes are shown.
i-FORCE or i-FORCE MAX: which tows more?
On paper the i-FORCE MAX hybrid is the stronger engine: toyota.com lists 437 hp and 583 lb.-ft. of torque, against 389 hp and 479 lb.-ft. for the i-FORCE 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 in the SR5, Limited, Platinum and 1794 Edition. The SR uses a 358 hp, 406 lb.-ft. version of the i-FORCE V6.
The highest towing rating, though, goes to an i-FORCE V6 truck: one SR5 4x2 configuration with the 6.5-ft. bed is listed at 12,000 lb. The i-FORCE MAX configurations run from 10,290 lb. (Capstone) to 11,450 lb. (Limited i-FORCE MAX 4x2 with the 5.5-ft. bed). The SR is listed at 8,300 lb. in every configuration.
Around the Chain O'Lakes, a Tundra often pulls a boat or a pontoon to the launch, so size the truck to the loaded boat and trailer, not the empty one. Bring the trailer's loaded weight when you shop at Toyota of Fox Lake and we will show you the Tundra configurations rated for it.

Towing capacity is not the only limit
The towing capacity is the most a Tundra configuration is rated to pull. The trailer's tongue weight, your passengers and the cargo in the cab and bed count against the truck's payload, and the loaded truck has to stay within its Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.
On toyota.com, 2026 Tundra maximum payload runs from 1,420 lb. (Capstone) to 1,850 lb. (SR 4x2 with the 8.1-ft. bed), and GVWR from 6,990 lb. to 7,780 lb. The owner's manual for your Tundra and model year has the full set of limits, so read it before your first trip with a trailer.
